The project will be built in phases and, once complete, will feature approximately 600 units. The first phase, which is located along Pringle Ave, broke ground in 2019 and includes 358 units and approximately 15,000 square feet of retail space. The units will include studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. Project amenities will include a station-inspired Great Hall lounge and co-working space, pool and spa, rooftop deck, dining room, children’s play room, bike repair lounge, fitness center and more. The building is oriented around the Pringle Passage, which is open to the public and allows access to the station from Pringle Ave. The project also includes on-site underground parking for residents, guests and retail uses.
The second phase, located on the corner of N. California Blvd. and Ygnacio Valley Road will contain 238 units and approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space and will be completed following the first phase.
With a dense concentration of premier eateries and lifestyle amenities, Walnut Creek has long been established as the East Bay’s premier retail destination. CONNECTIVITY TO THE ENTIRE BAY AREA
Walnut Creek Transit Village is located directly on the Walnut Creek Bay Area Rapid Transit (“BART”) Station, fronting I-680 at the intersection of Ygnacio Valley Road and N. California Boulevard. The Project’s proximity to BART, the Bay Area’s premier public transportation system, as well as I-680 and CA-24, two of the most heavily traveled transportation routes in the East Bay, will offer residents outstanding commuter access to the entire Bay Area and its major employers. The Iron Horse Regional Trail, connecting the cities of Concord and Dublin, can be accessed 0.7 miles from the Project. Covering 55 miles, the Iron Horse Regional Trail is designated for pedestrians, bicyclists and horseback riders. Just a 15-minute walk from the Project, the multi-use, whole-access trail allows residents a path to walk or bike on a safe, automobile-free thoroughfare.

The next phase of construction is underway on the Walnut Creek Transit Village on the former BART parking lot facing Pringle Ave. The Project is a privately-owned development comprised of 358 apartment units, approximately 15,000 square feet of retail space and on-site underground parking for residents, guests and retail uses. The fenced-off parking area on N. California Blvd. is being used for construction offices and material storage. The construction of this project and the associated road and utility work on Pringle Ave. and Riviera Ave. is anticipated to be completed by Spring 2022.
During this phase of project construction, access to the station, parking garages and bus intermodal will not be modified and the existing pedestrian access from the corner of N. California Blvd. and Ygnacio Valley Road to the station will remain open. Minor pedestrian path adjustments will be made to ensure pedestrian safety. There will be no interruption in BART service. To ensure the safety of the public, work crews and BART staff, please be mindful of traffic control persons, signage and fencing securing construction areas.

TVA was the original developer of the Walnut Creek Transit Village and is a founding member of the current Walnut Creek Transit Lifestyle Associates. Mr. Arthur began the development process for the Walnut Creek Transit Village in 1999 and continues as a principal in the project. He has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate development, management, leasing and sales. He was President of Western Center Management Associates, a subsidiary of a Northern California Shopping Center Development Company. He was Vice President of Bramalea Pacific, the Developer of the Oakland City Center Transit Oriented Development at the 12th Street BART station in downtown Oakland. Mr. Arthur was also the land acquisition and development consultant for the Cathedral of Christ the Light on Lake Merritt in Oakland and continues as the Real Estate Consultant to the Diocese of Oakland.

What is the Walnut Creek Transit Village?
Walnut Creek Transit Village is a new mixed‐use development that will contain apartments, shops, restaurants, public plazas, views of Mt. Diablo, and improved access to the BART station. The first phase of the Walnut Creek Transit Village Project is the New South Garage at Walnut Creek BART, which opened in April 2019 and provides over 900 parking stalls for Walnut Creek BART riders.
When will the Walnut Creek Transit Village Project be completed?
The first mixed-use phase of the Walnut Creek Transit Village is now under construction and is expected to be completed by Spring 2022. The final phase on the east side of the tracks has not yet started and will follow sometime thereafter.
Are there any anticipated changes to BART Parking or station access?
There are no permanent changes planned to BART Parking or station access. Please look for signage onsite and for passenger bulletins to advise of any temporary detours.

Access to the Passenger Loading Zone is available from N. California Blvd., Pringle Ave. and Ygnacio Valley Road. Station access for pedestrians is from Ygnacio Valley Road, N. California Blvd. and Pringle Ave. Bicycle access is available from Ygnacio Valley Road and the west access road via the new bicycle path from the southwest and Pringle Ave. from the north. Access to the existing North Garage is from the north via Pringle Ave. and Riviera Ave., and from Ygnacio Valley Road via the west access road. Access to the New South Garage is available from Ygnacio Valley Road at the east and west entries. There is no passenger loading allowed in the garages.
